saigon days 2-3

jess and i had a full day yesterday; we went to the imperial palace and the large indoor market (ben thanh market) where, from the advice of my vietnamese go-to foodie (vy), we hightailed it to stall 1082 and ordered the bun vermicelli with grilled pork and spring rolls (bun thit nuong cha gio). that was our #2 best dish so far i would say. afterwards we got jelly dessert drinks (i forget what they’re called) and that was our dessert #1. for those of you not in the know, it's a sweet milky drink over ice with coconut jellies and red beans and other things (?) in it.

afterwards we just checked out of our hotel and moseyed on over to the renaissance hotel, where georgetown is booked for the week. we had a little going away dinner and then it was sayonara jessy. i’ll miss my little ace boon coon.
